"The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are good, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eyes are bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness!"

Reflect

A healthy eye is also a generous eye. In the Greek, this word had both meanings. An unhealthy eye is also translated as an envious eye. If you have generous eyes, your whole life will be filled with light. If you have envious eyes, then your whole life will be filled with darkness.

Father, give me your eyes. When I see people and the world around me, help me to see opportunities where I can serve and shine your light. Forgive me for the greed that gets lodged in my heart and that clouds my vision. Amen.
