Jesus often taught by saying, "You have heard it said... but I say to you..." as a way to reframe truth about God and about life in new ways—kingdom ways. Join us as we follow the Reframe teaching series and pay attention to God's desire to renew our minds through his word, so that we can live renewed lives in the world.
Read Colossians 3:1-4
Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.
Here we're directly urged to reframe how we think about what our life means and what is really important in that life. What do you think it means to set your heart and your mind "on things above"? How do things above affect things below?
Lord, please reframe our hearts and our minds, and reorient them more and more to things above. Give us as much as we need of your vision and insight into our lives and the best ways we can live them. Amen.
