identity

A large group of women has been gathering on Tuesday nights for a 6-week teaching series on Identity in Christ. The event grew out of the Rise & Shine Women’s retreat held at Orchard Hill in the fall.

“I knew we needed to do something after the retreat, and we were extremely encouraged when over ninety women came the first night!” said Leanne Anderson, Rise & Shine point leader, “The retreat was the beginning of an invitation to go deeper and discover who we are in Christ.”

Six diverse speakers were invited to challenge the group in different aspects of our identity with the goal being to give practical biblical insight and applicable truth. Topics included, brokenness, waiting for God’s timing, and the importance of having hope during difficult situations.

“I have enjoyed learning about other women's lives and how God is working in them,” said Melissa Haberstich. “I also have enjoyed being able to socialize with other women of faith.”

The six-week event serves multiple purposes. First, it gives a chance for women of all ages and stages of life to hear relevant teaching geared toward them. It also gives them a chance to share in a round-table fashion with other women who can relate. Lastly, it has been a community-building experience, as many first-time connections have been made.

Plans are being made to continue offering this type of event occasionally throughout the year. If you would like to be notified of those plans, please contact Leanne Anderson (landerson@orchardhillchurch.org) or Juli Camarin (jcamarin@orchardhillchurch.org).
