The
Hederstedts
Roger,
Julie, Steve & Eric
The Hederstedts have served in Asia for several
years with Christian Resource
Ministries (CRM) and are personally
connected with Orchard Hill Church in many ways. Julie is the
sister of Chuck Shirey, member of Orchard Hill. Roger heard the
call to be a missionary at age 14. He met Julie at Wheaton College.
Their boys were both born in Japan, where Roger served for over
25 years with CRM developing leaders to strengthen and start
churches. Recently, Roger accepted a new role as Asia Director
for CSM, and the Hederstedts relocated to the United States in
Roger’s home town of Salina, Kansas. Orchard Hill Church
supports the Hederstedts through prayer and monthly financial
support.
Dan Keegan
Dan Keegan, recent UNI graduate and active Orchard Hill attendee, accepted an one-year internship with Urban Hope in Durham, North Carolina where he has served the past three summers as camp counselor. Urban Hope helps serve and develop people in the Walltown neighborhood of Durham, North Carolina. Walltown is an economically under-resourced community in the heart of the city. St. John’s Baptist Church (a local church in Walltown) and the Navigators team up each year to run a youth summer day camp. Urban Hope invites a small number of college students and young professionals to come and experience urban ministry through living in the community and working as counselors at the day camp. The Urban Hope 2008 Summer Camp is a day camp for youth grades 5-10 who mostly reside in the Walltown community. The missions experience challenges counselors to deeply examine God’s Word about issues of poverty, justice, and reconciliation. Orchard Hill Church supports Dan with prayer and finances.

the Mompremiers while on mission trips, and sent 80 Christmas bags

Jordan & Katie Vernoy
The Vernoys are a young married couple and Orchard Hill Church
members preparing to serve with Young
Life Costa Rica for a three-year term. Since the 1940s, Young
Life has introduced teens to Christ and helped them to grow
in their faith. The Vernoys are currently raising their financial
support and hope to head to Costa Rica as soon as possible where
they will work with youth at an international school. These youth
come from families of high socio-economic status from around the
world. The students at the secular Country Day School come from
the United States & Canada (1/3), Costa Rica (1/3), and various
other countries (1/3). Orchard Hill Church supports the Vernoys
