Small groups are a great environment for building relationships and encouraging one another in our faith. One of the best ways to get started in a small group is to sign up for one of our 6-8 week small group opportunities that are being offered a few times a year. Otherwise, if you know of others that you would like to start a group with, please contact This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Traditionally, classes and groups meet from 9:45-10:45 a.m. in Rooms 109 and 111.  Classes often meet for 4 to 6 consecutive weeks and focus on a specific topic or issue.  Some classes may follow the current teaching series. The Connect & Care ministry at Orchard Hill is a volunteers based group with a heart for the older generation.  We reach out to older people in our congregation who are no longer able to get around well, often unable to get to church services or hit with illness or disability.  This may leave folks feeling lonely and disconnected from their church family.  The main focus of the team is making visits although sometimes we may drive someone to a doctor visit or on an errand.  Wonderful relationships are often built between the volunteers and the older generation, read more.

Face to Face is about helping you discover what might best help you take a next step in your faith journey or a next step here at OHC. How?  Through a simple conversation.  On Sunday mornings, after each of our worship services, our Face to Face Team is available at the Welcome Center to talk with you about opportunities that can help you grow, learn, and connect here at Orchard.  We'd love to visit more with you about taking next steps in your faith journey and here at OHC.  Visit the team at the Welcome Center on Sunday mornings.  We're the people wearing the F2F lanyards. Mom's Morning Out
Linda Bartlett

On Wednesday mornings, moms meet for a time of sharing from 9:00-10:15 am. They discuss the joys and frustrations of motherhood, encourage and help each other, and talk about integrating their Christian faith into their lives. Childcare is provided in four separate age-appropriate centers. At 10:15 am, the discussion time concludes and mothers are free for the next 1-1/4 hours to do whatever they would like with their morning out. The mothers take turns helping with the childcare during this second part of the morning - each taking a turn once every three weeks or so. No need to register or sign up - just come to the coffee house on a Wednesday morning. Contact Linda Bartlett at 290-7884 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Quilting
Sally Baker

The Quilting Team meets each Thursday in Room 111 to make quilts that are given to young people who enter a youth detention facility in the area. The raw materials' we use are all donated cotton scraps and fabric remnants and come from the generosity of Orchard Hill members and friends. The creativity we use in putting the fabrics together into patterns is pure enjoyment. The labor involved in sewing the quilts together gets lost in the fun of doing it in the company of friends. The finished products are always amazing reminders of how God blesses the cooperative efforts of His children. And finally, the quilts themselves become a very tangible way of sharing God's love with those in need.

You may be wondering if you fit into this group.  Orchard's young adults are married couples and unmarried folks in their 20s and 30s who have some connection with Orchard Hill Church.  The goal of the group is to help young adults grow in their relationship with Christ and with other young adults.  If you have questions about the group, feel free to contact Pastor Ed, the old guy who lends his wisdom to the group, at 266-9796 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Orchard Hill's Young Adults try to have a social event every few weeks.  Past events have included everything from volleyball and bowling (see the weird picture of some of the bowlers whose one strike obviously went to their head), to a Progressive Dinner and a summer cook-out.  The best way to find out about the social events is to sign up to receive the young adult emails.  To be included in that regular mailing, email  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
