One thing Orchard values is "Connection." Orchard Hill inspires to have a spiritual environment in which people feel connected to one another and to God. Small groups are a great environment for building relationships and encouraging one another in our faith. Small groups exist to help connect people to people, people to service, people to the church, and people to God. Adult Small Groups This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it Groups of 8-12 adults that meet regularly for the purpose of building friendships and growing together as followers of Christ. Most adult small groups meet twice a month for 1-2 hours. Groups usually consist of people who are in a similar life-stage as you. (ie. Newly married, empty nesters, kids in elementary) Your group will spend the first few weeks getting to know each other, and then will talk about what you might like to study together. Some groups choose to read a book by a Christian author, some choose to do a study on a certain topic, some choose to study a book of the Bible. Your leader will help guide your group and provide direction. Some groups meet here at the church, while some choose to meet in each other's homes. Click here for more on small groups. Christian Book Club This ministry meets each month to discuss various Christian books. This group meets the 3rd Tuesday of each month at various places. Everyone is welcome even if you haven't read the book. The current book being discussed is posted on the bulletin board at the church. Daily Bible Reading - coming this fall Fitness The Fitness ministry sponsors several types of fitness classes at various energy levels. For more information & classes click here. Lunch Bunch An opportunity for women of OHC to share lunch together on a regular basis. The time together involves prayer, fellowship and fun. Meets the 2nd Wednesday of every month at various restaurants and tea rooms. Sign up on the bulletin board outside the church office. Mom's Morning Out An opportunity for mothers of small children to meet for prayer, Bible study, sharing and mutual support. Mom's Morning Out meets once a week, on Friday mornings, during the school year. The time consists of an hour together, then the participants take turns helping with childcare here at church while the other moms are free for the next hour and 15 minutes to do whatever they would like with their morning out time. Quilting Sally Baker The Quilting team meets regularly to make quilts that are given to young people who enter a youth detention facility in the area. The ‘raw materials' we use are all donated cotton scraps and fabric remnants and come from the generosity of Orchard Hill members and friends. The creativity we use in putting the fabrics together into patterns is pure enjoyment. The labor involved in sewing the quilts together gets lost in the fun of doing it in the company of friends. The finished products are always amazing reminders of how God blesses the cooperative efforts of His children. And finally, the quilts themselves become a very tangible way of sharing God's love with those in need. Women Alive Women Alive is a service ministry of OHC that provides meals and cleans up for funerals, weddings and missions of the denomination here at OHC. Women's Ministry Women's Ministry at Orchard Hill Church encourages and equips women through Bible study, and Christ-centered community-building activities. All women of Orchard Hill Church are welcome to attend and bring friends to any event. Fall 2010 Schedule |
