[What is CHAOS?] CHAOS is a Mid-Week Junior High Event for students in 7th, 8th, and 9th grades. CHAOS meets weekly on Wednesday nights during the school year and is a cooperative effort between Nazareth, Orchard Hill, and CF Church of Christ Churches. [What does CHAOS stand for?] CHAOS stands for Christ Has All Our Solutions [Where is CHAOS held?] CHAOS is held at the Family Life Center at Nazareth Lutheran Church. Address: 7401 University Avenue, Cedar Falls. Map it! [Do I have to attend one of the partner churches to go to CHAOS?] In short, no. In long, CHAOS is open to any junior high student (grade 7-9) in the Cedar Valley and no church affiliation is required. We do highly encourage the student and their family to be a part of a church congregation, wherever that may be. [Does CHAOS have mission statement?] Yes. To help teenagers become fully devoted followers of Christ. [Is there a strategy for your mission statement?] :: Yes. We strive to get teenagers involved in Christian relationships like Jesus had: in a one-on-one relationship with a Christian adult or peer, in a small group of 5-8 people living life together, and with a large group experience with community, excitement, accomplishment, and unity. [What are the core beliefs of CHAOS?] 1). That students can have a personal relationship with Jesus. 2). The Bible is a road map for life. 3). Love one another. 4). Going God’s way is always the best option. 5). The church is a great way for me to grow closer to God and his family. [What does a Wednesday night at CHAOS look like?] The doors open at 6:15pm. Pizza and smoothies are available if you’re arriving at CHAOS from an after-school practice or if you have an empty tummy. Programming runs from 6:30pm-8:00pm and consists of a student-led worship band, games/interaction, video clips, a spiritual focus talk, and then small group. [Is every student in a small group?] Yes. Every student involved at CHAOS is placed in a small group which meets for 30-45 minutes each Wednesday night at CHAOS. Small groups are formed at the beginning of the school year with intentions of remaining the same for the duration of that school year. [Do small groups meet outside of CHAOS?] Possibly, yes. It depends on the small group leaders and their ability to schedule outside meetings. In any case of a scheduled small group meeting outside of CHAOS, such as an overnight, the small group leader will distribute a Parent Letter with the information to be signed by a parent and returned to the small group leader. [Are there events/trips held outside of CHAOS?] Yes. Any jr. higher in the Cedar Valley is open to go on a CHAOS sponsored trip. See the ‘Events & Brochures’ Page for more info concerning upcoming events, brochures, and registration forms. [Who do I contact if my question hasn't been answered on this nifty page?] Email is the easiest way! Pick an email address and ask away :)
