Watching the movie Titanic is a real downer...

Up @ BIGhouse this week:

We're wrapping up our relationship series down at the community center!  This will be a night provided for students to step back, reflect, hear from the youth directors on what was impactful for them to hear.  Some of the buzz that we've heard through conversations is "man, so and so really needed the hear that tonight"...  We want to challenge our students to look inward at their hearts, not at the hearts of their neighbor.

To some who were confident of their own righteousness and looked down on everyone else, Jesus told this parable:  “Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector.  The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other people—robbers, evildoers, adulterers—or even like this tax collector.  I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get.’ “But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, ‘God, have mercy on me, a sinner. “I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.”

                                                                                                                                                                                                                         Luke 18:9-14

Help us this week to ask those questions of where they're at in all of this.  God's concerned with the matters of our heart.  Let's continue to have another bold week in His service.

Staff Mtg. Time:

We're changing locations errr'y body!  A new setup for the night requires us to do some moving around:)  We'll see you and your full plate of goodies down at the coffee house by the gym!  It'll be just like our meeting during the Christmas EXXXTravaganza!  See you down there!

Small Group SCHTUFF:

1.  Who would you say has been a pretty impactful person on your life so far?  Why?

2.  What are some good relationships in your life right now?

3.  How would you define your relationship with Christ right now?  Checking things out?  An old friend that you really haven't kept in touch with? Someone who is there for the hard times?  A Bestie?  Explain your answer.

4.  How do you think one would make their relationship with Christ good?

5.  If you have a relationsihp with Jesus,  how does your relationship with Jesus affect your relationships, or how you live?

6. What did you learn from this series?  What's your plan on applying what you've learned?

Pray for each other.  Thank God for the people that He's put in each ones life.  Maybe even pray for the person on your left or right.  Ask God for help with our relationship with him. (James 4:8  Come near to God and he will come near to you.)
