Starting Point - FULL
Fall Class is FULL. Next class starts January 17
Starting Point, an 8-week discussion group, gives permission to question everything! Participants are encouraged to hit the restart button and ask questions that seem out of place in a church setting, whether it’s because Christianity is new to them or because it seems offensive to question certain things. This is an opportunity to explore faith freely with a group of adults whose questions about God turn into a conversation about faith.

A Hope More Powerful Than the Sea
Online Book Discussion
We often hear of the Syrian conflict and resulting refugee crisis as a global issue of our time. The impact of the war and the need to flee home and country is always personal but we need spaces and learning environments where we are challenged to connect our faith to real life issues that feel far away and are difficult to engage. The book A Hope More Powerful Than the Sea tells the story of Doaa Al Zamel and puts a face and a name to the war and the refugee crisis. Online Group includes a weekly email with questions and reflections, an invite to read and share on a google doc, weekly guidance for you 6 weeks of reading and responding and an invitation to an optional post-book conversation on Wednesday, November 15, at 6:30 p.m. Contact Laura Hoy at firstname.lastname@example.org or Kris Hoskinson email@example.com if you have questions.
