Keys to the Game
In honor of twenty years of marriage to my husband Shawn, and in this season of Football Bowl games, I would like to share his favorite chunk of scripture. Shawn is a football coach and he often thinks about life in a coaching mode. I think that is why he likes this verse, it's like a coach reminding his players of the “keys to the game”.
He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God. Micah 6:8
What does this mean for you and I, two weeks after Christmas? We have adored the Baby Christ Child, we have thought about the gift that was given so that we might return to God. What kind of God requires acts of justice, love of mercy? What does it mean to live humbly walking with God?
