What do you like best about working at Orchard Hill Church? The last couple years, Sally and I have been working with our Young Adult group here at OHC. We like to open our home to them for Bible studies and other social occasions.
What is the most challenging part of your job? As I cut back to part time this fall and look toward retirement in 2014, I and the church are trying to figure out just what that will look like for me and the church.
What do you do when you're not at Orchard? In my spare time, I enjoy reading, watching movies, or weightlifting, any two of which can be done at the same time. Seriously, I'm a big fan of Stephen King, and love a good science fiction novel or movie.

Who is your favorite Bible character? One of my favorite life stories from the Bible is that of Rahab because it demonstrates how completely faith in God can transform a life. The tiny seed of faith she embraced as a sinful woman in the pagan city of Jericho grew and blossomed into a genuine relationship with God comparable (James 2:23-26) to the faith walk of Abraham.

What do you like best about working at Orchard Hill Church? Orchard operates the way a local church should work. Who or what inspires you and why? When someone starts understanding something new about their relationship with Jesus, I get really jazzed. It doesnt matter if it is someone early on their journey or someone who is learning something new, seeing the light start coming on is really inspiring to me.
What is the verse that you can recollect the quickest? Hebrews 11:1, Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.

Who lives in your home (including pets)? My wife Shelby, son Tobias, expected baby in Dec. 2012, and our dog Brooklyn.
What is the most challenging part of your job? The most challenging is also the most rewarding! Many times it's difficult see the results of investing in people's hearts and lives. It happens in God's timing with His blessing. This can make it difficult to measure success in ministry in the short term. While you can't judge success by numbers, you can see God's work through various benchmarks like celebrating one new commitment to Christ, or one "ahh ha" moment with God grasped, or even one small step closer to Christ! It's challenging but amazingly rewarding to see those real encounters with Christ that actually change people's hearts, lives, and legacies!
What is the sweetest car you've ever owned? During my first couple years as the junior high director I owned a 1985 yamaha QT50 yellow moped named 'Sunshine'. I bought it from Doug Tensen's son Elliot when he finished junior high. It maxed out at 25mph going downhill. We blew it up in for an EPIC Caravan video.
What is something most people don't know about you? While I absolutely love drumming, I enjoy even more downhill skiing in some of God's most amazing creation...the Colorado Rockies!
Who is your favorite Bible character? Umm... Timothy ;) duhh
